Allon Therapeutics (Canada)
Drug Class: Peptide
Mechanism/Technology: Activity-dependent neuroprotective protein (ADNP) and activity-dependent neurotrophic factor (ADNF) were identified as the proteins secreted by glial cells that provide neuroprotection in response to Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide. Allon Therapeutics has derived peptides from these factors and peptides under development include AL-108 which stabilizes microtubules (intranasal delivery) thereby restoring axonal transport and AL-209 which demonstrates generalized neuroprotective effects (intravenous delivery). Peptides cross the BBB and are active a low concentrations.
Primary Indication: Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimers Disease, Fronto-Temporal Dementia, and schizophrenia
Stage: Phase II
